A new report by the Devolution (Further Powers) Committee finds that UK Government policy has been a major factor in restricting colleges and universities from attracting international students to Scotland.
The Committee believes that post-study work visas should be reintroduced to prevent Scotland from falling further behind in attracting overseas students.

Legislation that would levy a supplement on the purchase of additional residential properties has been given the backing of MSPs on the Scottish Parliament’s Finance Committee today. The Land and Buildings Transactions Tax (Amendment) (Scotland) Bill introduces a supplement on purchases of additional residential properties in Scotland over £40,000.
