Remuneration:
 

On 4 August 2008 I took part in a telephone interview carried out by Populus Limited (of Northburgh House, 10 Northburgh Street, London, EC1V 0AT). I received no direct payment or expenses. Populus Limited (a market research company) undertook this survey on behalf of a UK supermarket although I was not aware of the client until the end of the interview. Populus Ltd donated £50 to the Enable Alexandria branch on 31 October 2008 therefore this remuneration falls into the ‘up to £500 per annum’ bandwidth. [Registered 26 October 2008]

I took part in an interview carried out by Ipsos Mori Scotland (of 4 Wemyss Place, Edinburgh, EH3 6DH). I received no direct payment or expenses. Ipsos Mori Scotland (a market research company) undertook this survey on a wide range of subjects with a number of MSPs. The clients were identified to me during the course of the interview. Ipsos Mori Scotland donated £100 to the Enable Alexandria branch, with the cheque received in my office on 23 October 2008 and then forwarded to the Enable Alexandria branch. This remuneration therefore falls into the ‘up to £500 per annum’ bandwidth. [Registered 26 October 2008]

In May 2009 I took part in an interview carried out by ComRes (of 152 Morrison Street, The Exchange, Edinburgh, EH3 8EB). I received no direct payment or expenses. ComRes (a market research company) undertook this survey on a wide range of subjects with a number of MSPs. I was not directly aware of the clients. ComRes donated £50 to the Enable Helensburgh branch directly, with a cheque being received by the branch by 12 May 2009. This remuneration therefore falls into the ‘up to £500 per annum’ bandwidth. In June 2009 I took part in an interview carried out by ComRes (of 152 Morrison Street, The Exchange, Edinburgh, EH3 8EB). I received no direct payment or expenses. ComRes (a market research company) undertook this survey on a wide range of subjects with a number of MSPs. I was not directly aware of the clients. ComRes agreed to donate £50 to the Dumbarton & District Pipe Band directly. This remuneration therefore falls into the ‘up to £500 per annum’ bandwidth. [Registered 11 June 2009]

On 3 July 2009 I took part in a telephone interview carried out by Populus Limited (of Northburgh House, 10 Northburgh Street, London, EC1V 0AT). I received no direct payment or expenses. Populus Limited (a market research company) undertook this survey on behalf of a number of companies. I was not directly aware of the clients until the end of the interview. Populus Limited agreed to donate £75 to CHAS at Robin House directly. This remuneration therefore falls into the ‘up to £500 per annum’ bandwidth. [Registered 12 July 2009]

In December 2007 I held a Christmas card competition. On 8 January 2008 Asda Dumbarton, a retail store, (of Asda Stores Limited, Asda House, Great Wilson Street, Leeds, LS11 5AD) provided to Enable Scotland a donation of between £501 and £1,000 (specifically £1,000) for the printing and prizes associated with the Christmas Card competition. In December 2008 I also held a Christmas card competition. On 15 December 2008 Asda Dumbarton, a retail store, (of Asda Stores Limited, Asda House, Great Wilson Street, Leeds, LS11 5AD) provided a donation of £500 for the printing associated with the Christmas Card competition. In December 2009 I held a Christmas Card Competition. On 12 December 2009 Asda Dumbarton, a retail store, (of Asda Stores Limited, Asda House, Great Wilson Street, Leeds, LS11 5AD) provided a donation of £500 for the printing associated with the Christmas Card Competition and £100 towards prizes. On 10 and 11 September 2007 I visited Brussels. The trip was a familiarisation visit for members of the European and External Relations Committee organised and paid for by the European Commission. The estimated cost of the flights, meals and accommodation was £456 (Hotel 170euros; Flights 440euros; Dinner

I own, jointly with my family members, a house in Algarve, Portugal with a market value of over £350,000. The estate has not yet been concluded but I believe that this interest was acquired on 17 March 2009. [Registered 11 June 2009]
